Ovens in Los Angeles

The oven carries more of a Los Angeles kitchen than any other appliance, whatever housing it lives in. We service built in single and double wall ovens, slide in and freestanding ranges, professional ranges, steam ovens and warming drawers, gas and electric, convection and conventional. That includes mainstream platforms from GE, Samsung and Whirlpool alongside Thermador, Gaggenau and La Cornue. After 24 years inside these machines, our technicians know each platform down to the igniter and the relay board, and this page covers all of them, while our range, cooktop and wall oven pages go deeper on each.

An oven that runs cold can be a drifted temperature probe, a failed bake element, a weak glow bar igniter or a relay board, and those parts sit far apart in cost, as does the labor to reach them. Swapping parts in order of price burns weeks of missed dinners. Our diagnostic visit is $95, waived with your repair, and it ends with a firm written quote before any work begins. If you are waiting for that figure to be revised upward once the oven is apart, the revision never comes. The quote you approve is your invoice.

We are open daily from 7am to 7pm, with same or next day appointments in most of Los Angeles and Southern California. A factory trained technician arrives with common igniters, elements and sensors on the truck, so most oven repairs finish in a single visit, whatever the housing. Precise diagnosis, genuine parts, and a 3 Year Onyx Warranty in writing.

What we fix

What fails inside an oven.

Bake and broil elements

An electric oven that heats slowly, browns unevenly or throws sparks from the cavity floor usually has a blistered or open bake or broil element. We test each element for resistance and shorts to ground, then replace it with the genuine OEM part for your model.

Glow bar igniters and spark modules

A gas oven that clicks without lighting, lights late with a whump, or drops flame mid bake usually has a glow bar igniter too weak to open the gas valve. We measure igniter current draw, test the spark module and replace the component that failed.

Oven thermostats, probes and calibration drift

When cookies burn on one rack and stay raw on another, or every recipe needs 25 extra degrees, the temperature probe or thermostat has drifted. We verify actual cavity temperature against the set point with instruments, then replace the sensor and recalibrate the control.

Relay and control boards

An oven that preheats and quits, ignores the set temperature or shuts itself off mid roast often has failing relays on the control board. We read fault codes, test each relay output under load and replace the board with a genuine OEM control, not a guess.

Convection fans and motors

A convection oven that bakes unevenly, screeches during preheat or falls silent when the fan should run has a worn fan motor or a damaged blade. We test the motor windings and the convection element behind the baffle, then replace the failed part.

Door hinges, springs and gaskets

A door that will not close flush leaks heat past the gasket, stretching cook times and roasting the control panel above it. We replace sagging hinges, broken springs and hardened gaskets, then confirm the door pulls tight so the cavity holds its set temperature.

Self clean lockouts and blown thermal fuses

An oven that died right after a self clean cycle almost certainly blew a thermal fuse or fried a door lock assembly in the extreme heat. We test the fuse, the lock motor and the wiring behind the cavity, replace what burned and free the door.

Touch panels and displays

A dead display, ghost touches or buttons that need harder presses point to a failing touch panel or its membrane and ribbon connections. We test the panel, its ribbon cables and the power supply feeding it, then replace the interface with a genuine OEM assembly.

Heat, ignition and control faults produce overlapping symptoms in an oven, which is why guesswork gets expensive here. A factory trained Onyx technician confirms the actual failure with instruments, installs genuine OEM parts on the first visit whenever possible, and stands behind the repair with a 3 Year Onyx Warranty in writing.

Why it cannot wait

The oven is the appliance everyone plans around.

Dinner tonight, the week of school lunches, the holiday that is already on the calendar, all of it routes through the oven. A weak igniter also rarely fails all at once, it fades, undercooking food unpredictably along the way, and a door that will not lock after a self clean keeps the whole cavity out of service. Repair it before the week fills up.

Questions, answered

Before you call.

How much does oven repair cost in Los Angeles?

The diagnostic visit is $95, waived with your repair. Once the failed component is confirmed, you receive a firm quote for parts and labor before any work begins, whether the oven is a freestanding range or a built in double wall unit.

Can you come out today?

In most of the service area, yes. We are open daily from 7am to 7pm, with same or next day appointments across Los Angeles and Southern California. Call (747) 777-9728 and we will give you an honest arrival window, not a vague one.

Which oven brands do you repair?

All major oven brands, including GE, GE Profile, GE Monogram, Thermador, Bosch, KitchenAid, JennAir, Dacor, Bertazzoni, La Cornue, AGA, Samsung, LG and Whirlpool, in every housing from freestanding ranges to built in wall ovens. Onyx is an independent company, not affiliated with any manufacturer.

Is my oven worth repairing?

Usually, yes, because most oven failures are one component, an igniter, element, sensor or board, in a machine built to last decades. When a freestanding unit needs a control board and major cavity work at once, replacement is the better call, and we say so.

What warranty comes with the repair?

Every repair carries the 3 Year Onyx Warranty covering parts and labor, in writing. If the fault returns within that period, so do we, at no charge.

Will the price change once you open it up?

No. One Quote. One Price. Guaranteed Repair. No Supplemental Estimates. The quote you approve after diagnosis is the amount on your invoice, and if the repair uncovers more work behind the cavity than expected, that cost is ours to carry, not yours.

The Onyx guarantee
