LG dishwasher repair · Los Angeles

Water in the base pan is what an AE code means on an LG dishwasher, and the machine locks out until someone finds the leak. Left sitting, that water finds the floor. We find it first.

LG dishwashers in Los Angeles

LG dishwashers are everywhere in the kitchens we service across Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Tarzana, usually installed during a remodel and run hard every night since. After 24 years working on them, the pattern on this machine is consistent. The AE leak code leads by a wide margin, a wet base pan tripping the leak sensor and locking the cycle out. Behind it come the OE drain error from a choked pump or filter, a heating element that quietly stops drying and sanitizing, and a control board that starts skipping or repeating portions of the cycle.

Guesswork is expensive on this machine because three different failures produce the same symptom. A tub that will not drain can be a pump, a blocked filter or a board that never sends the pump power, and the parts are not interchangeable in price. We diagnose first, then quote, so you approve a number attached to a verified cause. The visit is a $95 diagnostic, waived with your repair. We arrive same or next day, carry genuine OEM parts matched to your model and serial, and back every repair with the 3 Year Onyx Warranty.

What actually fails

What actually fails inside an LG dishwasher.

AE leak error

The AE code fires when water reaches the leak sensor in the base pan under the tub. Sump seals, hose connections and a cracked tub fitting are the usual sources. We pull the machine, find the drip path and seal it.

OE drain code on the pump filter

OE means the tub still holds water after the drain portion of the cycle. A clogged filter assembly, a jammed drain pump impeller or a kinked hose under the sink all trigger it. We clear the path and verify a full drain.

Heating element for the dry cycle

When the element fails, dishes come out wet and the sanitary rinse never reaches temperature, while the wash itself looks normal. We test the element for continuity and correct draw at the terminals, then replace it as one assembly.

Cycle control board

A failing board shows up as cycles that stall midway, buttons that stop answering or a pump that runs with the door open. We confirm the board is the true fault by checking its outputs before ordering the replacement.

Water inlet valve underfilling the tub

A tired valve fills slowly or not at all, so the cycle runs long and dishes come out gritty from a starved wash. Screens clog and coils weaken with age. We measure fill volume and swap the valve when it lags.

Door latch

If the latch or its switch wears out, the machine refuses to start or halts the moment the counter vibrates. The fix is mechanical and quick once confirmed. We check switch continuity through the latch stroke and replace the assembly.

Questions, answered

Before you call.

Do you repair LG dishwashers?

Every week we clear AE leak lockouts, OE drain errors and failed heating elements on LG dishwashers across the Valley. Onyx Appliance Service is an independent company, not affiliated with or authorized by LG. Our technicians are factory trained on the platform and stock the parts these faults consume.

Why is my LG dishwasher flashing AE and full of water underneath?

First we pull the machine and open the base pan, because AE is a leak alarm, not a guess. Water under the tub has tripped the float or sensor. We trace the drip to a sump seal, hose or fitting, dry the pan, seal the source and verify the code stays clear.

What does a LG dishwasher repair cost?

LG dishwashers get the same flat structure as everything we service. The visit is a $95 diagnostic, waived when you approve the repair, and you receive an exact quote before any work begins. One Quote. One Price. Guaranteed Repair. No Supplemental Estimates. The number you accept is the number you pay.

Do you use genuine LG parts?

Genuine OEM parts, matched to your model and serial number, are the only parts we install, never aftermarket substitutes. The trucks carry the components this machine consumes most, drain pumps, heating elements, leak sensors and boards, which is why most repairs finish in a single visit.

Is the repair covered by a warranty?

Before we leave, you receive the 3 Year Onyx Warranty in writing at the time of service. It covers both parts and labor on the completed repair. If the same fault returns inside that window, we return and make it right at no charge.
