Compact 24 inch · Ventless condenser · Stacked

Bosch dryer repair · Los Angeles

3 hour cycles and towels still damp usually mean the same thing on a Bosch dryer: the ventless condenser is packed with lint, and every pass through it dries less than the last.

Bosch dryers in Los Angeles

Bosch dryers in Los Angeles are almost always the compact ventless kind, stacked in a closet or tucked under a counter where a vented machine will not fit. We service them daily in the hillside homes of Palos Verdes, the beach blocks of Redondo Beach, and the ranch houses of Encino, and the complaint is the same nearly every time: cycles that run for hours and clothes that come out damp. In 24 years of working on these machines we have traced that complaint to one place more than any other, a condenser packed solid with lint the filter never caught.

Guessing on a ventless dryer gets expensive fast. The symptom is always the same, long cycles and damp loads, but the cause can sit in the condenser, the pump, the sensor circuit, or the heater, and each carries a different bill. So we diagnose first. A factory trained technician opens the machine, finds the actual fault, and hands you an exact quote before any work begins. The visit is a $95 diagnostic, waived with your repair. We fit genuine OEM parts, arrive same or next day, and back the work with a 3 Year Onyx Warranty.

What actually fails

Where a Bosch ventless dryer goes wrong.

Condenser blocked with lint

The heat exchanger at the base of the machine collects the fine lint the filter misses. Once its fins mat over, moist air recirculates instead of shedding water, and a 1 hour cycle stretches toward 3.

Condensate pump and float switch

Extracted water collects in a sump and a small pump lifts it to the reservoir or a standpipe. When the impeller jams with lint sludge or the float sticks, the machine halts mid cycle and refuses to restart.

Moisture sensor and thermistor

The dryness reading comes from metal sensor bars in the drum and a thermistor in the air path. Fabric softener film or a drifted thermistor skews that reading, so cycles end early with damp loads or never end at all.

Heater and thermal cutouts

On condenser models a sealed heater warms the closed air loop. Restricted airflow overheats it until a thermal cutout opens, and from then on the drum turns cold. We test the element, replace the tripped cutout, and clear the restriction behind it.

Drive belt and drum bearing

A stretched belt slips under heavy wet loads, so the motor runs while the drum stalls. A worn rear bearing announces itself earlier, a rumble that builds over weeks. Both are single visit jobs when caught before the drum starts scoring.

Door latch and control board

A dryer that will not start often has nothing wrong with its motor. A worn latch never tells the control board the door is shut, and a board with failing relays drops power to the heater or ignores the start button entirely.

Questions, answered

Before you call.

Do you repair Bosch dryers?

Yes, including the ventless condenser models most Los Angeles homes have. The faults we see most are lint blocked condensers with endless dry times, jammed condensate pumps, and moisture sensing failures. Onyx Appliance Service is an independent company, not affiliated with or authorized by Bosch or BSH Home Appliances.

Why does my Bosch dryer take forever to dry?

Start with the heat exchanger, not the filter. On a ventless Bosch the filter catches coarse lint while fine fibers ride the airstream into the condenser and mat across its fins. Once airflow drops, the machine cannot shed moisture, so it keeps tumbling. We remove the condenser, service it, and verify airflow.

What does a Bosch dryer repair cost?

Bosch ventless dryers are compact machines with tight tolerances, so we price from the actual fault, never from the symptom. You pay a $95 diagnostic, waived with your repair, and receive an exact quote before any work begins. One Quote. One Price. Guaranteed Repair. No Supplemental Estimates.

Do you use genuine Bosch parts?

Only genuine OEM parts, matched to the model and serial tag on your machine before we order, never aftermarket substitutes. The condensers, pumps, belts, and sensors these dryers use most ride on the truck already, which is why most repairs finish in a single visit.

Is the repair covered by a warranty?

Before we leave, the coverage goes in writing. Every repair carries the 3 Year Onyx Warranty on both parts and labor, handed to you at the time of service. If the same fault returns inside that window, we come back and make it right at no charge.
